As I mentioned earlier today, there's more Marcia Prentice photograpy goodness I wanted to share. I could not help but notice several photos in her portfolio featuring some fantastic art (and I love bold artwork) so check these out...
Marcia Prentice is a self-taught photographer from Los Angeles who I think was born to snap photos. I'm really stoked to share her photos with you all. You may be familiar with her work as she blogs/photographs for Apartment Therapy and has done some design work for a couple HGTV shows (she has a degree in design). Lucky girl! Here are some of my favourites from her portfolio. And there's more to come later...
Forever and a day ago in the blogosphere (my take on the fairytale opening words "Once upon a time in a far away land ...") photographer Anita Calero's West Chelsea loft bounced from blog to blog and back again. So much of what we see on blogs, especially what we all love, becomes a visual cliché. Yawn, seen that, click over to something else. With the distance of time some things that faded through repetition can become clearer again and make you remember how much you admired them. That happened to me on the weekend when I revisited Calero's work. Always loved her loft, her Long Island house ticked my boxes too and as for the rest of her portfolio ... how could I forget how much I was in awe of both her style and her photographs?
Why is Jo Bibby the first photo on my post today? The founding partner and designer at Ochre is just one of the inspiring women photographed and interviewed by Kristin Perers for her blog this is 50.
"As a designer, stylist and more recently a photographer I’ve spent my career trying to create beautiful things. Now I realise it’s not about fashioning beauty but finding it. And finding it in the everyday things around me. When I look now at women in their 50s I see so much beauty. And I want to know their story."
As a woman also in her 50s and just about to embark on a new career journey Kristin's blog could not have tumbled into my lap at a better time. Inspiration, beautiful women, beautiful photos. And just because I can I've included just a few of my favourite images from Kristin's interiors portfolio.
Oh my! Oh my, oh my, oh my! Have you ever seen such amazing colour? The lovely light. Shadows subtly adding to the shots. I am inspired by photographer Kate Mathis' work. From vignettes to rooms her images are beautiful. Sometimes a closeup of objects or a colour study can get the creative juices flowing and make my mind tick over with ideas just as much as a cleverly designed space.
