Matt Clayton

It's a chilly day in my part of the world. Winter sunlight fights winter winds and the only thing that is warm is the end of my red nose from all the rubbing with a tissue. A bad case of flu needs rest and fluids and cheering up. What does this have to do with the über talented London based photographer Matt Clayton? Nothing much except that his wonderful portfolio is just the tonic I need to make it through the rest of today. Thank you Matt. Now if you'll excuse me I need to go to bed.

Photos of note

When devouring the portfolio of photographer Jonas Ingerstedt the other day, I found a few photos with elements I wanted to take note of.

I love wood left in its natural state - even plywood. This wall of shelving is so simple. LOVE!

I am a little distracted by the really cool Magis chairs but after wiping off my drool I noticed the rod along the ceiling - awesome minimalist idea for basic lighting.

And speaking of lighting, I'm still smitten with bare bulb light fixtures, and hanging them in this set-up is really creative. Especially when highlighting objects directly below.

Dear Kat Teutsch ...

Your portfolio is brilliant! The colour, it's graphic quality, the sense of fun, the punch of personality these photos pack. You've put a smile on my face and a couple of decorating ideas into my files. Fabulous photography by Kat Teutsch.

Jonas Ingerstedt

Jonas Ingerstedt, you are my new photographer crush. And I've got it BAAAAAD. Jo featured your work a few years ago, and I'm sorry we forgot all about you. The spaces you have photographed are absolutely incredible, and made even more incredible by your ability to perfectly capture them through your lens. Who would have thought I'd love an orange and black kitchen so much? Or light blue kitchen cabinets? Or a pink hallway? And my love for Tom Dixon's copper shade pendant has grown stonger because of you...

Magnus Marding latest

It has been far, FAR too long since I featured the work of ridiculously talented Swedish photographer Magnus Marding. It's so easy to get lost in his photos, and wish you in one of those spaces to witness the beauty first-hand. I had to put the photo above first because it's my dream bedding - I can't get enough of wrinkled linen, and the colours are gorgeous. *drooling*
