The fisherman's cottage

I couldn't help myself. I had to revisit the generalist one more time. A 1940s waterfront cottage, an architect and a desire to recycle, reuse and celebrate the found instead of a rip it down, slap up something mega and new. My type of home filled with memories and little treasures. A place for family and friends to live life, share love and renew spirits. To find out who and why and where and how head to the generalist here.

(Thanks to the generalist team for the images!)

Climb the stairs ...

I love this photo by David Prince. Makes me want to run up and down those stairs. Makes me want to sit secretly in the chair, swinging my feet waiting to jump out and cry "boo" at who ever happens on down. If I tell the truth it really makes me want that runner!

Prince of drama

Whether capturing an OTT home, a darkened nightspot or the richness of a riad New York based photographer David Prince revels in drama. Rooms that could overwhelm challenge with their beauty and passion.

Behind the shutters

Take a stylist and her builder husband. To this creative mix add a lovely old house on the northern beaches of Sydney, furniture sourced here, there and everywhere and you have the perfect team when it comes to creative homemaking. With stunning photography by Simon Kenny for Content Agency it's an inspiring way to start the week on DTI. I'd love to take the credit but it's another fab story from the pages of the generalist. You can read more here. I promise it won't be the only one you'll read. Many many thanks to the crew at the generalist for sharing all these luscious images. I'm moving in I tell you. Moving in.

The lightest of grey

A soft, muted beauty, cozy like a favourite old sweater, stylishly simple and simply stylish. If I loved Paul Massey's Cornwall home then it's obvious that I'm head over heels for his Primrose Hill, London flat. An amazing photographer with a wonderful eye who could easily put down the camera and take up design.
