Inspiring workspaces

Last summer I blogged about a site I found called This Ain't No Disco (it's where we work), that invites agencies to send in photos of their spaces. I recently revisited the site and found more photos of workspaces that make me HATE the space I work in, that I swore I'd do something with and haven't yet.

I'm lovin'....

...this living room? office? I've posted it before but whatever it is I am in love, and it needs it's own post. I have been thinking alot lately how I need a proper place to put my collection of shelter mags. They are currently piled in my office and in a bookcase in the dungeon basement. I'm thinking of some type of unit in my office to replace the revamped wardrobe unit I have in there currently, or making the wall in my bedroom opposite the bed floor to ceiling shelving. The magazines in this photo just look...beautiful. A little bit of mid-century modern always gets me going - and those tulip chairs are perfect in the space. *SIGH* I'm definitively loving this.

Random on a Thursday

I am STILL super busy, and after tomorrow my life should be back to it's usual hectic pace. I have a ton of stuff to get done today, and tonight I am going to see my coworker Jack and his wife Shannon (Jupiter Ray Project) perform at the National Arts Centre. I thought I'd give them a plug because their music is awesome and Jack has been on parental leave since March and I miss him. Anyway, while I scarfed down breakfast I went through my sister's photo stash and found some random photos for a Thursday.

Really REALLY busy

I just got home from work and I have sooooo much to do so this is going to be a quickie. I LOVE this photo. Such a cool idea for desk legs. Though not sure how practical that is because mags stacked that high tend to slip.

This Ain't No Disco (it's where we work)

I happened upon the website This Ain't No Disco (it's where we work) the other day while googling for blog material. It showcases some of the best agency (advertising, media, music, technology etc.) interiors in the world. It was so much fun to see the creative environments where people work. Because I work for the government I'm stuck in a cubicle with green walls and blue industrial carpeting and a cream desktop. It's gross. I've been wanting to decorate it lately and when I have a permanent office in a couple months I'm SOOOO going to pimp it out. This site is so inspirational to get me to actually do something about the space I have to deal with 8.5 hours a day. I hope this inspires others out there stuck in a cubicle or equally horrible office to go nuts and make the space your own.
