Another Honky apartment

An apartment inspired by New York

What a fun apartment this is! It is a 2 bedroom show apartment that was designed by London interior design and architecture firm Honky. It is quite 'New York' themed but for a show apartment, I think it is perfectly suited to attract urban dwellers. White painted brick, lots of graphic elements and industrial touches all add to the modern look.

The midcentury home of a designer couple

This ranch-style home in the Hollywood Hills is an absolute dream. Owned by designers Ryan Brown and Diego Monchamp of Brown Design Group, they completely renovated the home making it much more open-plan. The new design is much more modern but they added midcentury touches to pay homage to its origins. I adore the kitchen/dining space - and whatdoyaknow, there's some tumbling block tile again! :)

Light and bright in Spain

Crisp, contemporary lines within an older building. White walls bounce light while splashes of colour in furnishings and art, wide oak planks, original posts and warm wood tones ensure that the spaces are not sterile. Casa CC58 in Barrio Salamanca, Madrid by Lucas y Hernández-Gil Arquitectos.

Le 205

Step inside the unassuming facade of this 1950s warehouse and you'll find a minimalist open plan home. Hints of the building's industrial past remain but as a shell that contains this super slick modern space. Seamless Corian benches, stainless steel, strip lighting and painted concrete play against a mix of contemporary and mid century furniture. I would, however be more at ease with this house if they would just move the shaving mirror away from the ethanol heater. Ouch! Is it a clue that the owner is hot stuff? Le 205 in Mile-Ex district of Montreal by Atelier Moderno.
