More retro inspiration. This time from the legendary David Hicks forerunner of Jonathan Adler and Kelly Wearstler. He was the superstar designer of the 1960s and 1970s – sought after by royalty and the privileged. Though it's been many years since his last projects were centre stage in the design world, David Hicks' influence is still felt today. His use of pattern is amazing!

As stunningly refined as his designs, fashion designer Marcel Marongiu's apartment in Paris is crisp, classic and understated. Paying homage to the past, it is of the moment and unpretentious.

My sister found this fantastic link for Target Living, an interior architecture and design firm based in the UK. They are absolutely incredible - their style is so modern, colourful and just plain FUN. I think I was having heart palpitations and drooling on my laptop while perusing their site. Kenneth Brown is the host of ReDesign, on HGTV. I have to say it's never been one of my favourite shows. I'm never really wowed by the results. Then I stumbled upon his beach retreat in Santa Monica featured in Western Interiors & Design magazine. I totally changed my mind about him - his place is amazing!
