Stalking SJB

I'm in Sydney, right on the harbour, stalking another apartment by SJB on the market with a price guide of $5 million. As they say "location, location, location" and I'll add "stylish, stylish, stylish." Light filled with pastel hues, lime-washed timber floor, whimsical, subtle and serene, a sugar coated almond. (You may remember the apartment from this post.) I wonder if the Navy vessel is included in the price? Guess not. Link here while it lasts.

Oh Mama!

An apartment perched on the rooftop of an old factory in Sydney's inner-city suburb of Redfern, a modern oasis a hand's stretch away from the CBD. A country style bed and breakfast

A charming country guesthouse with bare beams above and stone floors with Aubusson rugs underfoot. Not my usual choice but then a bed and breakfast should be an escape from the everyday urban grind. Interior styling by Susan Burns.

A Brisbane apartment by Louise Walsh

More and more of us are living in inner city apartment blocks. Developers relentlessly build more and more of what are often striking buildings on the outside or in the foyer but the apartments themselves are often bland, cookie cutter spaces. Not this West End apartment in Brisbane by Louise Walsh. Edgy and urban, its rich earth tones, layered textures and tribal touches warm the rooms and add personality and style.

Not your average beach house

A joyous play on colour and pattern, vinatge and new, this MacMasters Beach home by Sydney-based Brett Mickan Interior Design is definitely not your typical beach house. Oh the clichéd nautical and fish motifs may make an appearance here and there but their presence is a tongue-in-cheek reference to holiday living by the sea. This house is all about family fun in the Aussie sun with a nod to your grandparents' beach shack from the 60s combined with modern, casual living.
