Tuesday is cancelled
Did you get the memo? Tuesday is cancelled. No work, no family responsibilities, no problem! Instead we are meeting up for drinks by the pool at the Gravity hotel in Bali. Maybe they'll cancel Wednesday and Thursday as well.

It's Monday. There I said it, the dreaded "M" word. The end of the weekend and the start of another dreary working week. But wait! There is a way we can escape the drudgery of yet another Monday. Time for a virtual escape to Sydney's Watson Bay, to a stylish house with an iconic view and just a few steps from one of the city's best fish restaurants. What's even better is that the house is part of the Contemporary Hotels' luxurious stable of vacation homes. Maybe we can book it for next Monday.
Hallelujah the week is almost over! Time to turn our thoughts to weekend getaways. One of my favourite spots to runaway to for a couple of days is Byron Bay on the New South Wales North Coast just a few hours drive from me. Cool, stylish and laid-back this beach resort town with an eco conscious heart is home to a new chic boutique hotel, The Bower Byron Bay. Comprising 14 suites, a barn, a cottage and a family house it's the perfect place to stay in casual luxury. Love the minimalist vibe with its monochrome palette and lush greenery and it's just minutes from the beach and Byron's fabulous cafes and shopping.
Ever wonder why I'm obsessed with virtual getaways to cool hotels? Yes, of course, I like to escape the daily drudgery of work with a little daydream about relaxing by a pool or sipping cocktails with friends but I also love to squirrel away the design inspiration I get from the rooms. Today's escape is to Hotel de Tourrel, a 17th century palace in the heart of St.-Rémy-de-Provence, now a boutique hotel with seven suites. Add a roof top pool and a gourmet restaurant and I think we have the perfect Tuesday destination.
Yesterday I stalked a multi-million dollar house on Sydney's Pittwater, all black and glass and steel. It was fabulous no doubt but I'll let you into a secret. I'm a simple girl who likes simple things, beautiful, simple things I admit. If I had the choice between spending the weekend in yesterday's mansion or today's fibro shack I think I'd choose this Little Black Shack. Simple. I mean look at that view!
