Because you can never have too many church conversions

It's no secret that Kim and I are very partial to a church conversion and this Methodist Chapel conversion is so sweet and very clever. One of my biggest complaints of this sort of re-design is that the beautiful, tall windows are often unceremoniously chopped in half by the second floor. In this case the upper rooms are tucked in under the roof. The Chapel on the Hill, in Forest-in-Teesdale, England by Evolution Design is available as a holiday home for up to 7 guests. I can feel a virtual road trip on the cards? Meet you in church?

(And in case you hadn't realised it was a winner in the UK Property Awards 2015-2016.)

Morgan's Pub

It's a very slow day in my part of the world with the promise of more of the same over the long weekend. My plans include lazing around the house, perhaps a book, perhaps a little work in the garden, maybe some old school record playing. And as much as I love my own home I wish I was kicking back in Morgan's Pub, now a family home in Peckham, London and part of The Plum Guide.

Swing

London's most inspiring spaces and hosts. That's the claim made by The Plum Guide who hand pick the best of the best vacation rentals in the UK capital. The most beautiful designs, the coolest locations, the best hosts, those special homes you know you really want to stay in. The Plum Guide makes sure the spaces are amazing and then send in their photographers and stylists to make sure the listing images have you salivating. Don't take my word for it. Visit the site and check them out in full screen. Like Swing, a two bedroom warehouse apartment in Shoreditch, home to a photographic artist and an architect. I know I say it all the time but this time I really mean it ... I'd never want to leave.

The Little Monastery

Hooray for Fridays! The weekend is just about to begin and my mind is turning to getaways. How about a Belgian B&B? Bricks and render and a monotone palette of greys and creams and linen and lush lawns with clipped buxus? We can take tea and relax in the summer house or explore the countryside and be back home in time for work on Monday. OK I'm daydreaming but what a lovely dream. The Little Monastery in Damme, Belgium.

Hotel style and the warmth and welcome of a small inn. High end Bed & Breakfast? You bet. Love the look. Love the small luxuries. It's Stout & Co. Amsterdam built on the foundation of a former brewery with design by Puur Plus Ontwerpers. Virtual getaway anyone?
