A wildly colourful apartment in Paris

This colourful apartment in Paris by GCG Architectes is hitting all the right notes with me. This is how you do bold colour without it being over the top. This firm continues to capture my attention with their delightful, unique approach to design. Photos: Robin Petillault

A renovated Haussmann apartment in Paris

Because I will never stop loving Parisian apartments, here is one in the 1er arrondissement, Haussmann architecture at its finest with some recent renovations and styling by Baldini Architecture and GCG Architecture. I don't quite get the decor but throw in a Ligne Roset Ploum sofa and I'll forget any shortcomings. I am dying over the ceiling molding details. !!!!!

Pretty pastels in a home in Paris

Jo has featured the work of Paris design firm GCG Architectes a few times here on the blog (like here, here and here) and I am totally smitten with this talented crew. And this home in the Boulogne Billancourt suburb of Paris decked out in mostly pastels is fabulously random, as I would expect from GCG. Photos: Robin Petillault

The stark contrast between old and new heightens the impact of both. Maison à Colombages by 05AM Arquitectura.

Sunday at the barbershop

I love my hair stylist, but he works out of a rowhouse he owns that he never really decorated and is waiting for an offer so he's not putting any money into it. Because I spend at least 2 hours a day there every 8 weeks, it would be a much more pleasant experience if it looked as awesome as this barbershop (but he often brings his dogs, so that makes up for the lack of design). One Love Barbershop in Nice, France was designed by Baldini Architecture and I adore the somewhat random and dark colour palette. That shade of green is delish.
