designhunterla

Los Angeles based floral obsessed designer, blogger, stylist Veronica Valencia creates believes every home MUST have something vintage. I love her already. Her major obsessions are flowers, worn leather, brass, anything antique, wood is a must, succulents, naked lightbulbs and more is more when it comes to jewelry. always. Now I love her even more. The spaces she creates are so filled with warmth and joy and positive energy. Caroline Lizarraga

Think decorative painting is a thing of the past? Think again folks. I have been converted since decorative artist Caroline Lizarraga emailed us with a link to her portfolio. She loves old world style, and it's no wonder - she trained in Florence. Whether old world or modern, Caroline makes beautiful spaces spectacular. Somewhere in my next home I want very matte black walls done in plaster or to look like plaster such as in the photo above. Gorg!

Rooigem House

Like a series of stage sets or a a ramble of rooms filled with one man's dreams and treasure Rooigem House in Sint-Kruis, Belgium is the creation of antiques dealer and designer Jean-Phillipe Demeyer. Where to look. What to touch.

Looking back through the inspiration files ...

We're all guilty of it. File away our favourite images and promptly forget about them as we flit from the current new favourite to the next new favourite. I went drifting in a most delightful daze through my files looking for inspiration for a new project I'm working on when I came upon these spaces by Sara Ruffin Costello. Perfect!

And nothing to do with my project this set of stairs. Just because I love plants huddling in groups on steps.

South Hampton simplicity

Cecilia Dupire's South Hampton house is a study in stylish simplicity. Dupire, of design firm Cezign, has taken a 60s home and played with volume and view, connecting inside and out. No gut renovation though. Those parts of the home that drew her to the property in the first place with their charm and honesty have been retained. Cezign's ZIG range of furniture provides seating flexibility throughout the home. No Hamptons cliché here. A home of familiarity and charm. Images by co-designer of the ZIG range, photographer Costas Picadas.
