A rustic gem in Copenhagen

There is something about a home that is left raw and natural that always gives me heart palpitations. I nearly fell out of my chair when I spotted this apartment that was featured in one of my favourite magazines, Milk Décoration. Formerly a watchmaker's shop in a building constructed in 1905 in Østerbro, Copenhagen, it is the home of Niels Strøyer Christophersen, co-founder and artistic director of Danish design studio FRAMA. The patina, the history peeking out through peeling paint is perhaps too raw for most, but I think it's absolutely beautiful. Photos: Nathalie Krag

Happy Friday!

I thought I would share a little bit of Femina eye candy before I head out for a day of errands since this is my day off from my government job. I hate that alot of my days off end up like this, with a to-do list a mile long so I could use a little pick-me-up with these photos below. I shouldn't complain too much - on my list are items like find some decorations for my new blue/black and white kitchen, and visit/feed my stray kittens - which is a daily event that is both heartbreaking and heartwarming (as of 2 days ago the littlest one has decided he likes me petting him!). Happy Friday folks!

Nice niche

Perhaps I should rename this post "down the hatch". Love the redesign of this home in the small town of Vedbaek in Rudersdal, Denmark by Danish design dynamos NORM.Architects.

P.S. The glass hatch reveals a hundred year old wine cellar below.
