The Beijing home of an art collector

When home and art live in beautiful harmony together. This is the Beijing home of art collector Tian Jun. I love that is is filled with super comfy furniture and is totally liveable. A bit of a contrast to the last art collector's home I featured. Via Architectural Digest China, photos by Manolo Yllera.

Design from Taiwan

Whether their firm's name is HAO Design Studio or Ivan House Design or just House Design, I am smitten with the creativity and edginess of this Taiwan based interior design firm. These is a smattering chosen from several projects, but they mostly all have a masculine vibe, with industrial touches and are hip and fun for what I presume is a young-ish clientele. Cool work.

hoo favourites

I love this sleek little nook. Black and marble with a splash of gold. Beauty.

Compact and cute. Dying over the hex tiled floor.

Not a new concept, but it is amazing what you can accomplish with a set of kitchen cabinets and a slab of marble.

*** HOT ***

Another hot bathroom. Complete with black marble, white subway tiles, one of my favourite mirrors, and black hex floor tiles.

If you have a gorgeous tile, why not run it along the floor and up the wall!

Love the brass lights and the cool theater chair. Perfect for a narrow hallway.

hoo...I'm home

hoo.
home of one, one of a kind.

Some say, "There is no place like home". We prefer "There is no place like your home". After all,
where else can you feel truly at ease when you step through the door and breathe out......
"hoo... I'm home."

hoo is an interior design firm based in Hong Kong, founded in 2009 by YC Chen ~~~ creating one-of-a-kind HAUTE COUTURE homes. I have to admit that this description took me by surprise. I don't really see these spaces as that one-of-a-kind, and they are not at all what I would imagine when I hear the words haute couture. That being said, I really like what he is doing, which I would think is not your average style for Hong Kong. It is modern, almost minimal, and has alot of Scandinavian notes. Throw in some Serge Mouille & Jieldé lights, some caramel leather, some sleek Scandi furniture and I am a happy camper.

Just a little bit more from Peggy Bels. Including some of my favourites - a bit of Jieldé, and bit of linen, a bit of Panton. Yes!
