Masculine mountain modern in Manhattan

This is the Manhattan apartment of Will Nathan (co-founder of Homepolish, a company that connects interior designers with clients who don't necessarily have massive budgets). Homepolish's other co-founder, Noa Santos, helped him create this homey environment with touches of modern, rustic and masculine elements that work so well against the apartments fabulous features like the brick wall and beamed skylight. I especially love the shelf/rod combo above the bed - awesome in a small space because it eliminates the need for bedside tables (and the rods are just hooked through the shelf brackets).

Tribe Studio

Almost like cartoon construct, this Willoughby, Sydney home by Tribe Studio plays with bricks like a child with Lego. House of lofty spaces, house of light, open and bright. Not heavy. Not oppressive. Not dreadful chocolate brown hangover from the 70s. No. A celebration of adult size building blocks.

Almost

I almost convinced myself. "It's real. It's so fabulous it has to be real." You see we don't feature 3D rendering on the blog. No the rooms in our posts are real. They're built. Bricks and mortar. "This has to be real," I argued to myself. "I really love it." Imagine living in a grunge/industrial/masculine/raw but rich interior. Yes imagine is what we have to do. A fabulous small loft space ... almost. Design and renderings by Minsk based Nordes.

A light filled galley kitchen

I love this light filled kitchen that provides the link between the old and new in this inner-city Sydney terrace house. Reclaimed bricks and rustic timber shelf balance the sleek modern lines and smooth stone benchtop of the galley kitchen. Light tumbles in from the skylight while the transition from traditional dining room to the modern alteration is made via worn sandstone steps. Finally the space reaches a small but stylish courtyard. Such a beautiful space for cooking. By Paddington based design firm Alexander & CO.
