Mews 02 is a single residence set in Belsize Park. The owners, a musician and his designer wife, wanted this existing mechanics garage to be converted to a 4 level family home, with the emphasis on the entertaining areas and with the ability to create private compartments over for sleeping.

NORM

I can never get enough of Danish and Swedish architecture. It's totally a look I hope to achieve in some capacity with my home eventually. The white and minimal look is perfect for a home of chaos with too many cats that is my sanctuary. Jo blogged a project of Copenhagen-based architecture firm NORM a few months ago so I thought I'd revisit their portfolio and feature a bunch of my favourite spaces. LOVE THESE.

White box

New white box within a white historic shell. 110m2 in a former industrial complex. The roughness of the original concrete and brick building is smoothed by a coat of white paint but still plays against the volume of the new plaster box housing kitchen, bath, bedroom and mezzanine study. Drama is created by the use of black in large industrial windows, kitchen surfaces and furniture. Minimalist apartment by Bruno Vanbesien.

Soothing

I find black and white decor very soothing, and veeeeeeery appealing. And because I am feeling a little overwhelmed right now with everything going on, I thought a little black and white via Skonahem might help...or at the very least distract me momentarily. (I think I could have also titled this post "Lighting porn").
