Laurent Bourgois

The Paris-based firm of Laurent Bourgois consists of works in interior architecture and design. They have an impeccable grasp on classic and contemporary styles, and include many ethnic touches (and occasionally modern) in their designs. Below are works that wowed me...2 tiled kitchens with very different vibes, relaxing bedrooms, graphic artwork, it's cultured yet comfortable.

Colombe Stevens

Colombe Stevens is a Parisian architect whose interiors are out of this world. His work can be found all over the world, and his designs reflect the way of life of his clients. Modern, rustic, minimal, earthy, it's dramatic in basic forms.

Juan Manuel

Juan Manuel Montes de Oca is a young architect from Buenos Aires, Argentina, who emailed us recently. He just began his independent career, having worked for an architect before, and wanted to share with us his first work. It's the design of a small apartment for a young man who was on a tight budget. Juan Manuel designed EVERYTHING - the sofa, table, lighting, all but the Jacobsen chairs. I am so impressed. I adore the low wall unit that runs the length of the space - ideal for HIFI storage and propping artwork. I am also quite taken with the dining table and how it attaches to the wall.

Juan Manuel also included some photos of a small boutique he designed 2 years ago that is so sleek and modern I had to share it too.

Thank you so much Juan Manuel for sharing your work with us. I think you've got a very successful career ahead of you!

Galo Verdesoto

It's amazing what you can find when you follow link to link. While devouring the fabulous photos on Paul Whicheloe's website I was lead to the work of Galo Verdesoto. This New York based architect has a flair for drama. His contemporary space are clean and elegant, open airy and bathed in beautiful light. Positive and negative space play off each other and colour is a vital counterfoil to the lashings of lovely white.

Marcus Dipietro

Who's the talented architect from Nashville, TN from the previous post? Marcus Dipietro. I love the vernacular he builds in, stone and timber and the way his houses sit in their environment. The lake house addresses its wonderful vista so confidently, stone is at one with the Tennessee woodlands and you can almost reach through the monitor to push yourself in the hammock on the sleeping porch. I've concentrated on a lot of the interiors but there is so much more. Take a closer look at his portfolio. It's thoughtful and beautiful.
