Working on a Saturday

Many years ago I worked weekends in an art gallery to help put myself through university. No one had to drag me kicking and screaming to work. I loved it. Deliciously neutral

This deliciously neutral California home, part historic farmhouse, part airy contemporary interior is like the finest vanilla ice cream. Not bland and boring but rich and well rounded, very tasty and oh so sweet. Best of all like all great ice cream it leaves you craving more and more. Brentwood Farmhouse by Ken Linsteadt Architects.

Nano Pad

A tiny 22 sqm Art Deco studio apartment in inner city Sydney has been transformed into a stylish pied–à–terre. The Stables

Strong, resolved and enriching architecture. That is what New Zealand design boutique practice McKinney + Windeatt Architects aims to provide and their project, The Stables is a fine example. Working on a Saturday

Most weeks I feature workplaces under the banner of "if you have to drag yourself into work on the weekend it helps if it's somewhere stylish." I've featured dental surgeries before but this is my first paediatrician's practice. (I love the German for it ... eine Kinderarztpraxis.) Even more important than a good looking workplace is a space where children feel happy, relaxed and safe. Doktorfisch (an underwater world for a doctor's fish get it?) by Dreimeta.
