Stalking a warehouse apartment

I'm in my beloved Fitzroy in inner-city Melbourne and I'm stalking warehouse apartments. High ceilings, beams, large steel framed windows. What's not to love? I'm already fantasising about my midlife crisis and the need to escape to hipster heaven. Speaking of middle age hipsters don't miss the video. Link here while it lasts.

A minimalist retreat in Berlin

A minimalist oasis of calm sits atop a heritage building in Berlin, the home of a globe trotting entrepreneur with a killer African art collection. German interior architecture firm Dreimeta (who also designed Tuesday's La Granja in Ibiza) has created a home as retreat, an escape from high powered, fast paced lives, a place to be surrounded by authentic materials and treasures from travels, a beautiful space to collect and recollect.

South Yarra Residence

"A space that is unexpected and asymmetrically balanced using an installation of beautiful objects, the South Yarra Residence maximises every aspect. From the moment you step inside this considered home, a stone ledge and polished plaster niche immediately welcomes you. Curved walls complement the asymmetric nature of the apartment and open up the dining area to create a feeling of space."

Slick and sophisticated, considered simplicity, understated yet luxurious. South Yarra Residence by We are Huntly.

Stalking in London

Whoa! Real estate in Sydney may be expensive but London prices are stratospheric. OK I admit this 3 bedroom loft apartment is in the Westbourne Terrace area of London but £2,850,000? Ouch! My sympathy goes out to all who must live in the British capital. Thank goodness I'm only virtually stalking and not actually looking for a place to call home. Love the quirky personality of this apartment. The art, the odds and ends. The bathrooms are cool and the glass floor scary. Link here while it lasts. Via Domus Nova.

Scandinavian modernism in New York

Scandinavian minimalism meets industrial in this Tribeca loft by Søren Rose Studio. From it's original, now whitewashed oak floors and exposed brick to the super slick marble and stainless steel kitchen what's not to love? The old windows playing against the black steel and glass walls, the use of wood veneered storage walls to warm the space, the Scandinavian style furniture, the skylight flooding the space with lovely light. Perfect.
