Andrew Grinton

We received a tip the other day from a reader named Wilson regarding the photography of Torontonian Andrew Grinton. I am shocked we have not blogged his work before because it's fantastic. Wilson's comment was that Andrew is a cross between 2 of my favourite photographers, Ditte Isager and Anders Schonnemann. His still life portfolio is exquisite, and my favourites are below along with some interiors. Thanks Wilson!

UPDATE: I discovered that the first photo and a couple others below are being featured in an upcoming issue of one of my favourite new online mags (Canadian!) Covet Garden. Be sure to check out this special second issue for December when it goes live on the 15th!!!!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ....

Swedish stalking

Real estate stalking is a global phenomenon. It crosses all boarders and infects all races. Well all of us who are design freaks anyway ;) Stylist Mikael Beckman has it as bad as I do. He sent us this link to an amazing house 30 minutes from the centre of Stockholm. Perfect combination of mid century modern, land and lifestyle.

Monday's pets on furniture

If you'd like to send us photos to include in next week's "pets on furniture" post, please ensure your photos follow our basic rules: First, the pet must be on a piece of furniture. And said piece of furniture must be clearly visible in the photo, so it takes center stage rather than your pet. (Think of it more of a photo of a great piece of furniture that you want to show off...and your pet happens to be sitting on it). And second, the photo must be of decent quality. If it's dark or fuzzy (from a camera phone) then it may not make the cut. Thanks! (Photos, your name, location and a brief description can be sent to desiretoinspirekim@hotmail.com and PLEASE don't send me closeups of your pet!)

"My cat Moody, on the desk to be admired. He is such a poseur."
- Marion (Belgium)

"My 5-month old kitten on her favourite chair in the house."
- Julie (Singapore)

"Pazy, my super sweet 9 year old siamese-tortoise shell in my living room. She follows me everywhere waiting to snuggle."
- Brooke (Calgary, Alberta)

"These are Glasgow and Bruzu. They like to stay near the Christmas tree and sometimes we think they are waiting for Santa Claus. They love to be the center of all attention!''
- Erika (Sao Paulo, Brazil)

"This is Lucy and Yorke taking over my sofa. They are both dogs from the shelter. My son rescued them and then moved to Guatemala leaving puppies with me for the time being. Gran needs her couch back. Hurry home son!"
- Sheila (North Mississippi)

Since I didn't get a ton of entries this week I thought I'd sneak one in of my own. This is a photo I took this time last year of 3 of my boys (Felix, Cheeks and Edgar) asleep on the living room couch.
