Quickie 2

Ever had the daydream of living in a showroom? I do and if I could I'd be moving into hunter gatherer and designer Jason Mowen's. His Redfern shop-front looks just as cool in person. Sorry Jason I was the one who left the drool on your window a month or so ago.

Annette English

Perhaps you've heard of interior designer Annette English. She is an Australian currently based in Los Angeles designing homes for some Hollywood folks (ok, and some ordinary folk too) - and has even designed a 34,000 sq. ft. French château (!!!). When she emailed us saying she's an avid reader of the blog and thought we might like to blog some of her work she had to twist my arm to agree...not really. :-) Many of her projects are fairly traditional but she has designed some more contemporary spaces that I am a big fan of.  And I am a REALLY big fan of that huge moose photograph (after the jump).

Colour

Take a stark white shell and have some fun. Exclamation marks of colour restrained by dark floors and blindingly white walls. Push it even further with purple psychedelia in the bedroom then blow the whole thing apart with a bathroom that is definitely a knockout. Interior designer Craig Spencer is known for his broodingly dark portfolio. His latest project in Pott's Point takes his dark luxury and turns it inside out. Serious fun for the seriously brave. (You can see more of Craig's work on Desire to Inspire here, here and here.)

Another sweet London pad

The folks at Domus Nova (the London estate agency I blogged about here) kindly send over some photos of another of their properties. This time it's an incredible home in terms of it's architecture, with several glass walls and roofs. The central feature of the 4 bedroom property is a massive 2 story atrium with a glass bridge. I have to say the decor is not really something to write home about. I appreciate the global vibe but the main furnishings are pretty bland and really could be much funkier to blend with the cool, modern architectural details. That's ok though - the glass walls and roof sections are doing it for me.
