Bright and bold kitchen

I saw this today on a local paper's website (Ottawa Citizen) and had to share it. How gorgeous is this apple (or acid) green kitchen?!?! It is Daniel and Helene Gauthier's kitchen in their 2 bedroom, 850 sq ft downtown condo. (Perhaps it is so fab because Daniel is senior kitchen designer for Potvin Kitchen & Bath). They are very brave to have such a bold colour used so abundantly in their kitchen. Fantastic!!

Nicolas Matheus

Parisian photographer Nicolas Mathéus has a portfolio full of drop-dead gorgeous photos. Bathed in beautiful light, the spaces seem magical and pull you in, begging you to sit at one of the dining tables and enjoy a meal or have a wonderful sleep in one of the beds. I'll take that last bed - that's been a dream of mine forever, to sleep in a bed under the stars (preferably not in mosquito season).

Please, please, please ....

.... please Rachel Jones update your website soon. I love your work as a stylist and if a website can have dog eared corners or a computer screen have post-it-notes instead of bookmarks then your site would be just like my favourite magazines - well worn and much loved. I've been patient. I've waited for soooooooooo long but basically I'm greedy. I need more. Please pretty please.

Lar Doce Lar

Talk about colour and vibrancy! Talk about the exciting design scene in Brazil today! It's fun, slightly irreverent and hot, hot hot. These photos are from an exhibition/show house, “CasaCor Peru” created by Rosenbaum Design in Lima, Peru to celebrate Brazilian culture.

But perhaps the work that I am drawn to the most on Marcelo Rosenbaum and his design team's website is "Home Sweet Home" (Lar Doce Lar). This is design for the real people, not the "chic and thin". Since 2006 Rosenbaum has transformed homes that many of us would call slums for television. A better take on the genre than many. I've included some befores below but take a close look at the projects. You'll be inspired.

Storage solution

Just found this photo in my stash - LOVE THIS!! (I wanted to do this in my office when I was redecorating it last year but couldn't find decent looking crates).
