Laurent Bourgois

The Paris-based firm of Laurent Bourgois consists of works in interior architecture and design. They have an impeccable grasp on classic and contemporary styles, and include many ethnic touches (and occasionally modern) in their designs. Below are works that wowed me...2 tiled kitchens with very different vibes, relaxing bedrooms, graphic artwork, it's cultured yet comfortable.

Kelly McGuill

I loved Kim's recent post on white kitchens and I know many of you did too. One of the kitchens was designed by Kelly McGuill and when she emailed to say that she had happily spied her work on our blog I realised that her fresh coastal meets country meets classic family friendly spaces needed a closer look. Her homes are as fresh as the green apples and scrubbed timber she uses. Kelly is not only a talented interior designer she's a fabulous photo stylist as her website attests. These rooms are so welcoming I just want to be invited in for a coffee and the cake I know is fresh from the oven.

Colombe Stevens

Colombe Stevens is a Parisian architect whose interiors are out of this world. His work can be found all over the world, and his designs reflect the way of life of his clients. Modern, rustic, minimal, earthy, it's dramatic in basic forms.

Bart Van Leuven

I can't quite put my finger on it. Why does Belgian design speak to me so much? Is it the simplicity, the purity of it? The honesty? I'm still not sure but what I am sure of is the amazing talent of Gent based photographer Bart Van Leuven. His diverse portfolio captures the vibe so well. The lighting is atmospheric,. He lets nothing compete with his mission to capture the essence of his subject. It's honest and stunning in its simplicity. Don't miss his floral/garden portfolio. I've included two shots at the end as a teaser.

Designer water

I've got to admit that I love receiving freebies in the mail, and today I got home to find a package on my doorstep. It contained 2 Evian bottles, one designed by Christian Lacroix and one by Jean Paul Gaultier. They are gorgeous, and the kind of bottles that would look incredible on an open shelf or counter in a kitchen. (Mine will look fab on the counter). The Jean Paul Gaulthier is an exclusive design for 2009, and is in limited editions, so check your local stores if you'd like to get your hands on some. Amazing...even water can be fashionable. (Thanks Scott!)
