I recently featured this loft and this other loft by New York based design firm Studio DB and because I am now a huge fan, I thought I would share my favourite spaces from several other projects they have completed. They are all about funky graphic patterns, beautiful wood and statement tile.
The last minute Christmas rush driving you nuts? You know that coffee is a cure-all. I promise. And no one does the coffee/cafe scene better than Melbourne. Mammoth by Technè is one of the latest hot spots.
"The brief was to create a peaceful, happy space that had a nod to subtle reference points including West Coast USA, summer holidays and the aesthetic of Wes Anderson films."
I can definitely see a Euro 80s vibe as well in colours and materials. Very cool spot to escape the shopping crowds ... if only for a little while.
Mr. Waller, Andrew Waller, Mr. Interior Design Master...whatever you want to call him, this pied-à-terre is a little slice of heaven in white, black and grey. Love all the muted tones here. It is so calming and dare I say, the perfect bachelor pad. (Photos: Maree Homer)

You can never go wrong with black and white, and in this case it makes for a stunning exterior of a home that was known as being the neighbourhood "ugly duckling". Located in Johannesburg, South Africa, the owners of this home bought the house despite the real estate agent admitting she thought no one would buy it. After 4 years, the home became a simple, beautiful modern retreat with a mix of contrasting textures. And the cats seem to love it. I am totally smitten with the last photo. Via Visi. Photos: Dook.
