Crushing

It's just a hallway I hear you say. It's just a staircase. Yet I'm crushing heavily on these normally neglected areas. In the hands of Moscow-based Malyeva Interiors the monochromatic spaces are crisp, refined, divine. Such timeless beauty.

Cape Cod in Missouri

It looks like it could be beachside Nantucket but instead it's lakeside in St. Louis, Missouri. A base of crisp, bright white is enhanced with pops of colour, vintage finds and handcrafted touches with visual interest added through texture and patina. This serene family vacation home could have looked staged and cheesy in the wrong hands. Instead the Amy Studebaker Design project has a casual elegance, a coastal charm.

Clean lined, simple architecture with emphasis on natural materials such as wood, stone, metal, linen and cotton. The pursuit of timeless, beautiful spaces without losing functionality. That's the manifesto of Madrid-based Estudio María Santos and this light and bright, modern apartment in the Ventas area is a perfect example.

You know what I say week after week. If you have to drag yourself into work on the weekend it helps if it's somewhere stylish. Hey I could equally have called this post "Pampering yourself on a Saturday" because this is one commercial space that staff and customers will equally enjoy. Mani? Pedi? Or both?
