Stalking a suburban tardis
Doctor Who fans will know the secret of the tardis. Bigger on the inside than it appears on the out. Who could imagine such high open spaces could be lurking behind this narrow single fronted house in Port Melbourne? A clever extension lifts the space to follow the roof pitch and seamlessly melds the inside and out. Features that speak to me are the two "open" bathrooms, the way light is brought into the centre of the house through a series of pitched skylights and a clever open garden room. Link here while it lasts.

This is so beautiful! there is a lot more room then you think!
Being from Mobile ,Alabama we call these shotgun houses. Shoot a shotgun at the frhont door it hits the back door. The home decor in these houses were simple with a lot of homemade furniture. People love these houses around here. If one comes on the market in a decent neighbor hood they are sold in a hurry. You owe it to yourself to check this style out.
Such a creative design. No words to appreciate.
This Doctor has TASTE!
wow this is truly amazing!!!looks can be deceiving huh!?;) yes can i please have one just like it!
LIke this refreshing & innovative & creative & calm & v stylish
OMG!!! *gasp pant collapse* really? Are they serious??? Adopt me & let me move in please?
This house looks like heaven...bet it comes with it's own cleaning person too, eh? <s> Must be nice!!!!
oops, wait a minute...where are the bedrooms? got to have at least 3 bedrooms!
That is a great interior. So why not renovate the front of the house as well? Did the obviously huge budget run out? The facade is now completely out of character because the inside has been totally modernised. It seems a bit odd to me.
What's with the toilets? Both are open to the outside. Public pooping is not my thing.
Also, water from the shower would spill all over the bathroom.
when you have money you can make any place look amazing...
As a ardent fan of the doctor I am amazed that all those beautiful interiors and exteriors in in that seemingly small home... .. fantastic !!! The Doctor would love it ...

Very impressive, great design.
glammed up tunnel of a house. nice at first but will it eventually feel claustrophobic even with the good use of outdoor light? just wondering cause I was feeling a little nauseated after seeing the last of the picx.
Wow. Very interesting juxtaposition. A sweet little Victorian on the outside and ubersleek modern on the inside. Although the floor keeps the modern from feeling too cold, the kitchen is a bit too "aseptic" for my tastes. Love the indoor/outdoor transitions throughout the house. Wish I lived in a climate that allows for that!
wow!
That has to be the narrowest, deepest lot in the world. The design optimizes creating unimagined spaciousness.
wait wheres the bedroom?
Great! Thank you!
Gorgeous!! Where are the bedrooms^.^?
The Doctor would be proud!
As a Canadian living in the US- Arizona, let me say this is the best I have seen anywhere, fabulous. Wish they had a open house and i could be there!! Thanks for posting.
Great spread, up until I have to see myself poop.
