Life's too short
I was debating whether or not to post this on the main page, but then I decided f*ck it. I need some prayers/happy thoughts sent here to the hospital. (I wrote about this on "kim's page" several days ago). I am spending most of the day with my twin sister in the ICU waiting room while her husband undergoes surgery to remove a brain tumour (likely cancerous). He was diagnosed with this about a week and a half ago and while he was told it is a severe tumour and needed operating on right away, they had delayed his surgery 3 times to take more serious cases. But they finally took him in a couple hours ago and in about 5.5 hours it will finally be over. If you can say a little prayer for him, and my sister and their 2 small children, that he gets through this successfully I'd really appreciate it. Thank you. (My sister has been blogging this traumatic/frustrating/exhausting experience here).
*******UPDATE********
The surgeon came in to talk to my sister and I about 20 minutes ago (6 pm)...with a big smile on her face. She got all of the tumour out! They still have to run pathology tests to find out what kind of tumour it was but for now she seemed pretty confident at the results (it sounds like his speech and other areas they were concerned about weren't affected, and she performed the surgery in under 4 hours when she thought it would take 5.5). And I can't freaking believe it but he can probably go home tomorrow!! Thank you all so much for all your kind comments and prayers. They worked!!!

Tara Lynn just left this comment:"Since we are on the topic, and cyber-callouts for prayers and blessings appear to be the norm, some prayers for me please. My mother-in-law is also fighting a tumour in her cervix; the doctors state that her specific type of malignant cancer is not curable but they will do all they can to help her - thank GOD we live in Canada! She undergoes surgery tomorrow and soon thereafter will experience intense chemo to hopefully rid her body of the spread cancer. I believe in the power of prayer and healing thoughts - they worked with Kim - so I would appreciate some prayers sent my way please. We really need it. So please pay if forward and hold us in your mind and heart. In the world of cancer, no one is a stranger." Please say a prayer along with me for her mother-in-law. Every little bit helps.

I arrive after the battle, but I'm really happy for your all family. What a nightmare...
So glad your brother in law is doing so well. I will be praying for him and for your sister. May God give you wisdom and strength as you try to support and encourage them through this. Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. P.S. Thanks for making desire to inspire such a great blog!
almost 30 years ago my uncle had a brain tumor the size of a grapefruit removed him the center of his brain. They gave him a less than 5 % chance of survival. He recovered (except that he can no longer do math) and has been healthy, happy and pretty much the same as before this entire time. It can be done!
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time-
this may be a day later, but i'm still saying a prayer :)
Kim, I am so glad everything is fine with your BIL. Sending more prayers and positive vibes for your family ~

Thinking of you from Udine, Italy.
It took me well over 2 months to finally get the result from the analysis of my tumor, and begin chemo, so my thoughts may be a little late, but they are never the less with your brother-in-law. Even if you've passed through the worst, it will continue to be a part and thought of all of your lives, sometimes more, sometimes less.
Smiling surgeons is good, I don't remember if mine did (I think he looked a little less severe after :), but they were all very well pleased and happy to let me go home several days in advance. There were some concerns for my motorical functions on the left side, but as soon as I was allowed to sit upright I grabbed the embroideries I had brought with me. No problems. :)
Bendiciones para todas las personas que están atravesando momentos difíciles en sus vidas.
