Daniele Perna

Jo and I received an email from Lynn Zilka of Daniele Perna Designs: "Based in New York City, multidisciplinary interior designer Daniele Perna creates custom innovative, unique interiors. He balances function, inspiration and style with his distinct aesthetic that incorporates rich, dynamic colors, textures, dramatic lighting and interprets cultural influences with a contemporary perspective. Through honed skills and a refined sense of character, Perna sculpts his environments and creates lucid projections of his clients' personal and public identity."

"At its foundation, my design philosophy is to implement a change of consciousness. Design is a way of thinking and communicating, and at the core of an individual is intuitive. Designs that execute complex concepts elicit emotional responses, which will in turn open up mental perception to new modes of behavior. Ultimately, design is about change. Design is a piece of the evolutionary process just as science and technology are. At this level design represents individual, sociological freedom." Daniele Perna

Also, thought I should mention that the art in these photos are by 3 really talented artists - Duy Phuc Nguyen, Doze Green and Edgar Sanchez Cumbas.

Amazing use of colour and texture. I love the holistic approach to design. The concept of evolving is exciting. And that wall of glass lights is dead sexy!

I have seen this designers work before. At first I was shocked by the use of color. I than went back to, what he calls, the Daniele Perna Designs 'Web Experience’ (www.danielepernadesigns.com) several times. I began to feel and understand the idea he is getting at. I have been following this Designer for some time, his idea to elicit emotional responses is interesting and I believe he is correct in his philosophy. Read these two articles: http://www.dezignare.com/whatshot/06/jul/25.dperna.htm and http://www.dezignare.com/newsletter/dperna.htm . I started to really look at how I feel when I am in an interesting interior, I feel as if I want that depth in everything in my life, food, public bathrooms, the school that I went to etc. Perhaps Daniele Perna is getting at something that is already inside me he just pointed me in the correct direction.

how lush. Very mod marrakesh meets buddha bar. Or - if you'll forgive the it - Cheesecake Factory on steroids. I love the lush use of rust and cobalt blue as well as the attention to detail on the walls. The walls really are the centerpiece to each vignette.

Gorgeous discovery!

Thank you for posting his about Daniele Perna, who I have long admired. You have quoted an astonishishingly insightful set of statements from Daniele relating to interior design. These are actually quite moving because they get right to the heart of things. "At its foundation, my design philosophy is to implement a change of consciousness... which will in turn open up mental perception to new modes of behavior." How valuable is that? What better and more compelling reason to invest in professional design? I have had very happy experiences with Domane. They are an excellent firm of interior designers who do very impressive interiors. They are highly professional and full of ideas:
